Yackandandah Forest Drive
The Yackandandah Forest Drive starts and finishes in the township of Yackandandah, starting from Bells Flat Road and follows a 14 km, 30 minute circuit through the Stanley State Forest. There are a number of campsites and picnic areas throughout the drive. Roads in the area are suitable for 2WD and 4WD vehicles but please keep to the tracks as 'off road' travel in this area is prohibited. There are a number of gold panning sites on the drive but please ensure you are in possession of a Miners Right. Gold panning in the Yackandandah Creek is not permitted.
Allan's Flat Tourist Drive
The Allan's Flat Scenic Drive is a round trip of about 21 km on main roads. It begins from Yackandandah's High Street and takes you through a tour of the early gold mining villages of Staghorn, Allan's, Osborne's and Rowdy Flats before returning to Yackandandah. The 'flats' you'll see along the way were once a string of thriving, multinational gold mining communities along the Yackandandah Creek. This was a time of great prosperity but today little remains of this past, though the disturbed ground still bears the scars of gold mining activity. Stop off at the Allan's Flat Reserve for a picnic and cool swim in the warmer months, before returning to Yackandandah.
Village Loop Drive
The Village Loop Drive will take you on a 90 km round trip through some of the prettiest villages in Victoria - Yackandandah, Myrtleford & Beechworth.
Take your time and spend a whole day enjoying the green rolling hills, big skies, gold rush era villages and fabulous food, coffee, wineries and breweries.
