Bree

In December 2021 local creative business people were given a reusable-disposable camera to capture up to 25 images about what makes Yackandandah special to them.

Bree Attwood and her partner Leigh only started Backwoods Distilling Co in their garage in 2017. They have been extremely busy ever since! Their releases are often sold out during presale and the tasting room is full of visitors more often than not. The distilling team is now rounded out with the addition of Stillvester (a custom-built 1250L still) and Stillvia (a daintier 500L gin still).

Backwoods Distilling Co is lucky enough to share the Yack Station Precinct with other creative businesses. Michael from Happy Baker occupies the other end of the old train station and the smells wafting from his kitchen are enough to make anyone drool. You could easily spend the entire day at Yack Station - coffee from The Guard, pastry from Happy Baker into whisky tasting from Backwoods!

Cat

In December 2021 local creative business people were given a reusable-disposable camera to capture 25 images about what makes Beechworth special to them.

Cat Leahy of Feather and Drum Hat Co epitomizes Yack's cool, artistic vibe. Formerly a full-time touring musician Cat picked up hatmaking during the pandemic and has excelled.

Cat's images focus on the natural surrounds of Yackandandah, never very far away. Elements of nature feature in Cat's hat creations as well and you will often find a native bird feather peeking from a hat band.
